Today our 4th grade students brought the novel Because of Winn-Dixie to life by dressing up as characters from the book. What a fun way to connect reading to creativity!

✨📚It’s Book Fair Time at Bladenboro Primary School📚✨
Ms. Edge's Pre-K class was reading "Wemberly Worried" and discussing how Wemberly realized that school is fun and her friend Jewel helped her learn how to reduce her worries. They were learning the letter "Ee" and coloring pumpkins, ("E" orange and "e" green). They also practied writing "Ee" and following directions coloring pictures involving "Ee". They had so much fun working in their centers as Ms. Edge and Ms. Hill guided them to follow directions, transition between centers smoothly and cooperate with their peers.
Ms. Rachels' Pre-K class was enjoying learning things about Fall. They read "There Was an Old Woman Who Swalllowed Some Leaves" and had some funny discussions. The were studying the letter "Ee" and colored pumpkins. They worked in their centers as Ms. Rachels and Ms. Vereen guided them to complete tasks and work together making good choices transitioning from group to group and center to center.
We are so thankful and excited to share that we have surpassed our original goal!

Students were encouraging one another and eager to learn in Ms. Johnson-Taylor's class today! They wrote on iPads to practice spelling, took turns at the Cleartouch and were cheering one another. They then worked on various individual goals.

Ms. Sullivan's Kindergarten Class was reading about Helen Keller today. They are learning /m/ and using mirrors to watch themselves sound it out. They are learning sign language as they study their ABCs and using other manipulatives and resources to learn about the senses. Lots of excitement and learning is going on!! Mr. Russ' MEP/ML students are learning sentence structure and conventions of grammar. They had fun at the end of the lesson having a competition to see which group could arrange the word slips to make sentences the fastest to earn rewards.

Mrs. Miller's 3rd & 4th graders were learning the short vowel sounds of /i/ & /a/. They had fun writing on "magic paper", using flashlights to sound out letters and working with magnetic letters to write words.
